Whether you see yourself on Wall Street, Shangxiajiu Street or somewhere without streets, the Daniels International MBA (IMBA) uniquely positions you to succeed in the international arena. The goal of the IMBA is to produce graduates who will seek sustainable solutions, embrace innovation and know how to align an enterprise’s mandate for profit and growth to its responsibility to society and the environment. If you’re ready to use business to tackle complex, global challenges, the IMBA is for you.

At Daniels, You Will Find

  • Two highly regarded programs; one powerful degree. You’ll study business fundamentals and ethical leadership at Daniels and expand your global perspective by taking courses at the University of Denver’s highly regarded Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Korbel’s professional master’s degree program is ranked No. 12 in the world for international master’s degrees, according to a biennial survey conducted by researchers at the College of William and Mary for Foreign Policy magazine.
  • Faculty that inspire you. Our faculty members bring significant international business and consulting experience to the classroom, making them experts at bridging theories to real-world application. You’ll find teachers who know your name and care about your goals.
  • A network with global reach. From your fellow students to our faculty, alumni and corporate partners, your Daniels network will help you maximize not only your time at Daniels, but your opportunities upon graduation. Our alumni—more than 30,000 worldwide in 70 countries—and corporate partners connect you to the best opportunities in your chosen field, anywhere in the world.
  • Learning that takes you farther. Learning at Daniels is not confined to classrooms or even continents. Our approach challenges you to roll up your sleeves and get involved—with your classmates, your extended community and the world. In the required Global Theory in Practice class, students travel overseas to examine a specific industry or service in a transitional economy. Other work-study-abroad options include the Deutsche Bank Microfinance class or the Global Opportunities program.
  • Full-time or part-time schedule. You can complete the IMBA in as little as 21 to 27 months full time, or you can earn your degree part time with a more flexible schedule.

Given the rigor of the Daniels program, we seek students who have demonstrated the ability to succeed in an academic setting. Graduate students must have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Letters of Recommendation

Two letters of recommendation are required from individuals (nonrelatives) who can evaluate your academic and/or work performance as well as your potential for success in graduate school. Please provide the email addresses of your recommenders when filling out the online application and let them know they will receive an email from Daniels with instructions on how to submit the completed recommendation form online. If you prefer to contact your recommenders directly, you may download the Letter of Recommendation form and have them send the completed form to daniels@du.edu.

Essays

Essays are assessed for clarity, organization, conciseness and grammar. Through the essays, you can communicate what you hope to achieve at Daniels and how you will contribute to the Daniels community. Take advantage of the optional essay question (#3) to let us know what sets you apart from other applicants.

Admissions Interview

The admissions interview is an opportunity for both you and Daniels admissions staff to evaluate whether there is a good match. Interviews are conducted on an invitation-only basis. Applicants are contacted by a Daniels representative to schedule the admissions interview, which will be conducted in person or by phone. Most international admission interviews are conducted via web cam.
