APPLICATION DUE DATES

  • Fall applications are due by April 30 (early or on-time applicants may be able to take summer courses)

  • Spring applications are due by December 1

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission is competitive and based upon a committee review of each applicant’s fulfillment of the following requirements. Applicants must:

  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Have an undergraduate degree (Business Administration or other field) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Have 3 years professional experience and be fully employed when admitted to program unless otherwise granted approval.
  • Submit GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) scores. Executives with over 10 years experience may seek a waiver on this requirement.

The Crowell School of Business utilizes the following formula to calculate an index score for each applicant. Applicants must score 1,000 or above in order to be eligible for admission. 

GMAT + [200 x undergrad G.P.A.] = index

APPLICATION CHECKLIST & INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Apply Online or Download the Application
  2. Provide a statement (no more than 2 pages) addressing your qualifications for acceptance to the MBA program (leadership potential, creative abilities, motivational aptitude) and your career goals, including a description of how participation in the MBA program will contribute to your growth and development toward those goals. (This is included in the online application but must be submitted separately if you are completing the PDF application.)
  3. An application fee of $55 (non-refundable) is required.  Pay online through the online application or submit a check payable to Biola University.
  4. Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. If enrolled at the time application is filed, be sure to request transcripts of work you have finished to date and final transcripts upon completion of your course of study. Transcripts must be official, that is, mailed directly from your college or university in a sealed envelope to the Office of Graduate Admissions.*
  5. GMAT Score Report
  6. Three References (Online Reference Forms or Download the Reference Forms.)

  7. Please include a professional resume and organizational chart indicating your current position within the organization
  8. Interview with the Crowell School of Business Academic Dean, Dr. Larry Strand (we will contact you to schedule your interview once we have received all the above application items)

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. International applicants — Students holding F type visas are not eligible for this program.

  2. Divorced/Separated/Remarried applicants: These issues may not disqualify you, however, they have a significant effect on your life and ministry. Therefore, please submit a one to two page statement (we recommend using a text editor like Word and then copying-and-pasting into the online application) indicating: the general circumstances (include counseling and attempts at reconciliation) and your view of the biblical teaching on separation, divorce and remarriage and how your situation relates to that teaching. Please reference appropriate biblical passages. What effect do you perceive it having upon your future ministry?

  3. Criminal conviction other than traffic violations: Having been convicted does not necessarily disqualify you, however, it may have an impact upon your life and ministry. Please submit a one to two page statement (we recommend using a text editor like Word and then copying-and-pasting into the online application). Describe the circumstances in full, including date(s) and the name and location of the court(s), nature of the offense(s) and disposition of the case, i.e., sentence imposed, and the impact you perceive it having upon your future ministry.

AFTER YOU APPLY

  1. You will be assigned to an admissions counselor and notified, by letter, of his/her name. Any questions you have concerning admissions, financial aid, or housing should be directed to your admissions counselor.

  2. You will be notified of items needed to complete your file.

  3. Upon completion of your file and review by committee, an admission decision will be made. Notification of the decision will be sent by mail.

UPON ACCEPTANCE

  1. Remit required $100 enrollment deposit payable to "Biola University" to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

  2. The medical history form (included with the acceptance notification) must be completed and returned to the Health Center

TRANSFER OF CREDITS/UNITS

Students transferring from a regionally accredited graduate program may transfer a maximum of six (6) units. The courses transferred must be equivalent, have direct applicability to the student’s program, and be approved by the program director. Only courses with a grade of “B” (3.0) or higher will be considered for transfer toward the MBA degree. Units considered for transfer must have been taken within five years prior to the date of admission.

*Note: Official documents presented for admission or evaluation become part of the student’s academic file and normally cannot be returned or copied for distribution
