The Golden Age of business, when US companies dominated world markets, is fast receding in the rearview mirror. Today, those businesses that intend to survive and thrive must have a very clear understanding of what is going on in the rapidly changing global situation.

The Global and U.S. Economics seminar explains the characteristics of developed, developing and underdeveloped economies and how specific economies change in this classification over time. The course will cover the impact of changing economic structure on new business development. The mechanism of monetary and fiscal policy and its impact on inflation and growth is reviewed and case studies demonstrate the importance of understanding the fundamentals of fiscal and monetary policy and their effects on enterprise performance.

Seminar Objectives:

Participants in the Global and U.S. Economics training seminar will learn to:

  • Understand the political and economic drivers that affect economic performance in developed, developing and underdeveloped countries and the characteristics of these economies that impact business decisions.
  • Learn the role of monetary and fiscal policy in achieving economic stability.
  • Discover how to gauge future economic stability in various economies as an input for business decisions, and consider the dynamics of the business environment in economic forecasting.
  • Be able to look beyond the noise of economic data to forecast future economic activity and stability from fundamental economic and political drivers.
  • Learn how to classify businesses as global and multi-regional in either mature or emerging markets, and how to develop successful business strategies based on the matrix of global/multi-regional businesses and mature/emerging markets.
