What is Accounting?
Accounting is a financial method that collects, organise, process and summarise data for financial reports and statements, which are then used in the decision making process. Accounting can be used to find and track key business trends, and to report relevant organisational information.
Accountants do much more than just prepare financial reports. Experienced accountants work strategically with various teams by providing expert financial advice on the impacts of management decisions, compliance and governance and the deployment of systems, resources and processes throughout the company.
Why study Accounting?
You will learn how to analyse financial data, and then how to organise and present this information in financial statements that will be used to assist business planning and decision making.
It opens excellent career opportunities and is a strong foundation for a fruitful career. More CEOs have degrees in accounting than any other area of study!
