Getting Started with Endeca Latitude 2

Getting Started with Latitude 2 is a three-day course for data architects, application developers, and business analysts. It encompasses an introduction to the concepts of Latitude data exploration and ingest, as well as hands-on interaction in developing a Latitude sample business application using Latitude Data Integrator and Latitude Studio.

Throughout the class you will learn about the core concepts specific to the Latitude product line. You will spend time getting introduced to Latitude becoming acquainted with the Latitude Data Integrator which configures your data and Latitude Studio that drives your application's user experience and encourages successful end-user discovery. You will become familiar with the Latitude sample business application assets and work with its data to build out your own Latitude analysis application.

Through the hands-on lessons in the class, you will learn the details of how to work with and load different data in the context of your sample Latitude application. You will start with ingesting data using the Latitude Data Integrator. You will then build a basic results page, using search, breadcrumbs, guided navigation and result list components in Latitude Studio. Next you are introduced to the concepts of data modeling and joining data and how it can enhance your guided navigation experience. The next portion of the class covers the process of adding a search interface through the Latitude Data Integrator, then verifying its function and behavior through the search box component in your sample application. You will continue to enhance your guided navigation through creating attribute groups in Latitude Studio. Next, you will work with Latitude Data integrator to create precedence rules, then verify your results with your guided navigation component in Latitude Studio. In the next phase of the class you will cover advanced topics such as integrating with other ETL tooling, security, text enrichment, deployment features,and surveying additional assets and next steps in application design. In the last phase of the class, you will be introduced to building visualizations with charts, graphs, grids, and alerts using analytics functionality. Through class labs, you will be presented with new business problems where you be guided in building analytic statements and configuring Latitude Studio components to successfully deliver the necessary enhancements in your sample application to solve the business problem.
