ADMISSIONS PROCESS
The Executive MBA Program uses a self-managed application process. Applicants are responsible for providing the necessary information and documents to complete an application. We have developed a resource to guide you through the application instructions. We recommend reviewing the document before accessing the online admission application.

Letter of Endorsement
Candidates must obtain
endorsement from their employing organizations. The
endorsement acknowledges that the employing organization
agrees to support an EMBA applicant's attendance at
all required class days and activities. Individuals who are
self-employed or not currently employed submit an additional letter
of recommendation in place of the Letter of

Recommendations
Three recommendations are required (four
if self-employed). Applicants provide the recommenders'
names and e-mail addresses in the UW Graduate School's online
application system. Recommenders receive an e-mail
message with a link to access the recommendation form. We
strongly encourage recommenders to use the online forms. View

Application Workshop
Designed for potential applicants who have attended an information
session or met with an EMBA admission representative. You are
invited to attend an informative one-hour session to learn how to
submit your best application. In-person workshops begin at 6:00
p.m. in the Bank of America Executive Education Center at
the Michael G. Foster School of Business. Online sessions begin at
5:00 pm.
APPLICATION DEADLINES & SELECTION CRITERIA
Application Deadlines
Applications are accepted throughout the year and fully qualified applicants are admitted year-round for an Autumn Quarter start.
- Applications continue to be accepted for the Autumn Quarter 2013. NOTE: We anticipate available seats in the North America class, but expect a possible waiting list for the Regional class.
- If you have not yet begun an application and are interested in beginning this year, we recommend you contact the EMBA Program admission staff. We are committed to admitting the most qualified applicants.
Graduate School online application
Selection Criteria
Each entering class is made up of 30 to 40
participants who are selected to represent diverse industries, job
functions and organizations. The minimum years of experience
considered for admission into the EMBA Program is five. The
admission committee also evaluates each applicant according to
the following criteria:
- Demonstrated potential for general management
- Ability to successfully complete graduate work in management
- Probable contribution to the program
- Ability/willingness to commit the required time and energy
- Demonstrated record as an effective small team member
- Ability to enhance the class’ professional background diversity
