The Evening MBA Program offers a highly effective way to enhance your business and management skills and revitalize your career potential. Touted as a model program for other universities, this respected University of Washington program offers the same education as our prestigious full-time MBA program in a format that accommodates working professionals.

Most evening MBA students have an employment situation that is sufficiently stable to take on the rigorous demands of graduate-level classes, study time and group meetings. As the class profile documents: the average age, work experience and pre-MBA career progress of evening students is higher than that of full-time program. Evening students are most likely to use knowledge gained in the program to advance with their current employer or to transition to a better position in a related field, often before completing the degree.

THE REQUIREMENTS

This section describes the requirements you must meet in order to be considered for admission to the Foster MBA Program. Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, capable computer skills—particularly with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software—and solid skills in quantitative analysis. When you do submit an application, all aspects of that application, including the fulfillment of these requirements, are subject to verification.

Foster MBA applicants must have completed the equivalent of a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Applicants are not required to complete academic courses in any particular topics to be eligible for admission. An academic or employment background specifically in business is not required. Students are expected to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, capable computer skills - particularly with word-processing, spreadsheets and presentation software at least at a level comparable to Microsoft Office, and solid skills in quantitative analysis. Your prior scholastic performance should indicate an ability to complete graduate level work.

Quantitative Analysis
Foster MBA applicants must meet a quantitative analysis requirement. Each applicant must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with numbers and be able to perform complex quantitative analysis. College transcripts showing courses in advanced mathematics or courses in disciplines such as science, engineering and computer science that require similar quantitative skills may demonstrate this ability. It may also be demonstrated through a combination of a strong GMAT quantitative score, prior course work, and current employment responsibilities that, taken together, indicate to the admissions committee that the applicant has demonstrated college level skills in quantitative analysis.

English Language Proficiency
All non-US Citizens are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency. This may be satisfied by any one of the following:

  • Bachelor's or Master's/Graduate Degree from U.S. institution or English-speaking institution in accepted countries (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom
  • Official document from institution stating that medium of instruction is English
  • Results from English Language Proficiency Exam (refer to below table for accepted exams and score requirements)
