Whether you seek an expanded role within your present company or want to discover new professional opportunities, the Master of Business Administration program at WMU provides the education, tools and connections you need to succeed in your career.  The MBA program is available in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, giving students in southwest Michigan choices. Each location provides the convenience you need and the expertise you expect and the flexibility needed for working professionals. Students find our MBA program to be challenging, interesting and rewarding. The MBA at WMU offers a curriculum that is learner centered, discovery driven and globally engaged.  The faculty and staff take pride in meeting the professional needs of students through a rigorous curriculum and flexible schedule for full- and part-time students.  Scheduling  Fall and spring semesters are thirteen weeks long, with classes meeting one night per week. Summer I and Summer II sessions are 6.5 weeks long, with classes meeting two nights per week. Most classes meet on weekdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Students, Faculty and Staff  Approximately 85 percent of students in the program work full-time and enroll on a part-time basis. Students' work experiences are leveraged during class discussions to enhance learning and to help establish a network of professional contacts. All MBA courses are taught by Ph.D. faculty with industry experience who are engaged in international research and supporting regional businesses. Industry experts also serve as guest lecturers.

The MBA program at WMU uses a rolling admissions process for U.S. students. You can apply any time throughout the year. We can process applications as late as two weeks prior to a semester start. Applicants are, however, encouraged to apply early.
International applicants need to apply in accordance with the following schedule.

No matter which campus you plan to attend, the application process is basically the same. 

  • U.S Residents should use the online application.
  • International applicants should use the international student application.

Note

: All international applicants should work closely with the WMU Office of International Student Services.
  • Submit official transcripts.

Submit one of the following:

  • Official GMAT or GRE scores.
  • Evidence of a prior graduate degree from an accredited U.S. university, or
  • GMAT waiver form based on at least seven years of extensive management experience, entrepreneurial experience or military service.
  • International applicants: submit TOEFL scores and other materials directly to theWMU Office of International Student Services.

Admissions decisions are based on the following factors.

  • Completion of an undergraduate bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 2.50 for the last two years of study. Undergraduate degrees from all disciplines are accepted.
  • One of the following:
    • GMAT Score: For GMAT information, please visit the mba.com web site, or
    • GRE Score: For GRE information, visit the GRE web site, or
    • A previous graduate degree from an accredited U.S. program, or
    • A minimum of seven years of extensive management experience and at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
    • For International applicants, TOEFL scores will also be evaluated.
    • Work experience is recommended but not required for admission.
