Executive MBA One-Year Program

The one-year executive MBA (EMBA) program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in business and at least five years of professional/managerial work experience. Previous business coursework and experience helps to support admissions criteria and the GMAT is not required.

Surrounded by accomplished students and peers, the classroom atmosphere is energetic, collaborative and designed to stimulate critical thinking and engage dynamic discussion. Executive lectures, a CEO Intervention program, and an international study tour enhance the rigorous curriculum. Students also benefit from one-on-one executive coaching, team coaching and leadership development.

Saint Joseph's EMBA students are a diverse community, which enriches the student experience and offers a global perspective. The program's International Residency to emerging business centers such as Dublin, Copenhagen, Paris, Athens, Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hong Kong and Tokyo, expands this perspective and gives students a deeper understanding of the managerial, political and cultural concepts that influence and drive international business. 

The EMBA program is carefully structured to minimize disruption to students' careers and personal lives, while delivering an AACSB-accredited business education in an accelerated format. Classes typically meet one full day a week, on alternating Fridays and Saturdays, and don’t require overnight weekend residencies. Students have the option of pursuing the degree in either a one-year or a 20-month program format.

The Executive MBA Program at Saint Joseph's University offers a convenient, all-inclusive tuition package, which includes:  executive coaching, credit hours, a laptop (which becomes your property), books, international study tour, all instructional materials, parking permits, use of EMBA Office with amenities, identification cards, meals, socials, orientation fees, etc.  The tuition may be amortized throughout the course of the program.

The Personal Statement can include:  What are your career objectives?  Indicate your reasons for seeking admission to Saint Joseph’s Executive MBA Program, stating specifically what you can contribute to the Program as an area of expertise.  Provide any additional information which you think may be important in the evaluation of your application.

Applications for admission are accepted throughout the year.  Due to the popularity of our programs, prospective students are encouraged to apply early to reserve their place within the program.  Every applicant will receive personalized service throughout the application process.

 International Students must submit an official course-by-course evaluation by World Education Service (WES: 1-800-937-3898/3899) of undergraduate and graduate education.

If the student is from a country where English is not the primary language, they are mandated to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). If they do not wish to take the TOEFL, they can enroll in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. This program is a study program for 2 months where students are evaluated and receive a recommendation letter.
