The qualification aims to give everyone the knowledge and skills they need to contribute to the prevention and control of infection.
There are four units in this qualification. Each unit looks at different aspects of infection prevention and control, and working in a safe manner. You are required to complete the activities for each unit.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, learners are required to successfully complete four mandatory units.
- Unit 1 - Principles of the causes and spread of infection in health care settings
- Unit 2 - Principles of the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection in health care settings
- Unit 3 - Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management in health care settings
- Unit 4 - Principles of infection prevention and control in a health care setting
On successful completion of this course students will receive an accredited Level 2 Certificate Qualification with 15 credits issued by NCFE.
