Professional MBA

The Cox Professional MBA is a twenty-four month program (48 credit hours) that gives you the flexibility to customize your learning experience in a rigorous academic environment.  In fact, students may concentrate in one of nine areas of specialization, as well as pursue less time-intensive minors, for a truly customized academic experience.  Our modular curriculum, consisting of eight-week courses, allows you to select courses from a broad range of offerings. Some of these courses are closely integrated with others; some are designed to be stand alone offerings—visit our MBA course catalog to learn more. As a result, you can develop expertise in an academic concentration or acquire broader knowledge for a general management perspective. In addition, you may choose to participate in an international exchange program with one of our partner schools in Hong Kong, Denmark, France, China, Germany, Chile, Czech Republic or Italy.

Your application, supporting documents and personal interview are very important in the selection process, as they present you to the Cox PMBA Admissions Committee. We hope you will provide us with the most complete and honest picture of yourself. Interviews are scheduled at the discretion of the admissions committee after a completed application has been received. Admission decisions are typically made within two to four weeks after the application is complete.

A completed application contains the following items:

• Application form found in the on-line application
• Professional resume 
• Essays
• Official GMAT test scores* (within the last five years)
• Official copies of any graduate and undergraduate transcripts*
  
• Two professional recommendations - people who can speak to your work-related skills and abilities 

*While we can accept unofficial copies of scores and transcripts, if offered admission to Cox, you are required to submit official GMAT scores, official TOEFL/PTE scores (International Applicants only), and official transcripts within 30 days. Cox reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission should any misrepresentation occur.

Tips for Completing the Application Process

Read the following tips under each application element below. The best MBA applicants pay careful attention to detail. Be sure to do simple things such as spell-checking your work, filling out forms completely, and answering correctly. While some of these may sound like "no-brainers," it is easy to forget the little things in the rush of completing materials. 

If you are applying online (the preferred method), take time to review your work. Once an application has been submitted, the only change allowed would be to update your professional resume. If you are applying with a hard copy, be sure you type your application carefully or print your answers clearly. Illegible applications receive little consideration.
