Weekend MBA Format
At Ross, we understand that hiring companies want leaders who can synthesize many perspectives in order to assess different kinds of risks and opportunities. Thus, we designed the Weekend MBA format to provide a dynamic, multidisciplinary approach to understanding the roles of different functional areas when real organizations address real challenges.
Students in the Weekend format earn the MBA degree in two years, beginning in May. Weekend classes are held twice a month on Fridays and Saturdays. A total of 60 credits is required to earn the Ross MBA. Our Weekend MBA calendar is now posted with on-campus dates highlighted in red.
- Friday classes are held from 4 – 9:10 p.m., with a dinner break.
- Saturday classes are held from 9 a.m. – 5:10 p.m., with three breaks.
All classes are completed on-campus but roughly 30 percent of the coursework will involve distance learning such as viewing a lecture online so on-campus time is spent on discussion or simulation. Classes are held in Ann Arbor. Students in the Weekend format also will complete the Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP) course as part of the MBA core. Teams of four to six students work on 14-week projects sponsored by companies. Students must commit to a full week of travel and/or on-site work in late February/early March of the first year.
No other part-time program in the area can claim that its MBAs enjoy a higher average monetary gain after graduation. No other business school in the region has a career services office as effective as the Ross Office of Career Development. The ROI of a Ross MBA includes a business school network of more than 40,000 alumni and a University of Michigan network of more than 500,000.
