In 1917, the OU College of Commerce and Industry was one of the first schools west of the Mississippi to be accredited by AACSB International. This formed into the College of Business Administration in 1929. Adams Hall was built to house the College of Business Administration. The building was named after the college's first dean, Arthur B. Adams.
In 1997, the college was named the Michael F. Price College of Business in honor of Michael F. Price, a major benefactor and graduate of the school (BBA1973). Price Hall was built in 2005, connected to Adams Hall to the east to form the Jim and Jeannie Dodson Courtyard to the south and the Bruzzy Westheimer plaza on the north side of Price Hall by the front entrance.

The Social Science Research Network ranks the Price College of Business ninth and tenth among all U.S. Business Schools for total downloads per paper and total downloads per author respectively.
The Division of Management Information Systems ranked 6th in the nation for research productivity from 2003 through 2008 based on publication in the top MIS journals.
The Entrepreneurship program ranked seventh in the nation in the 2009 University Entrepreneurship Research Productivity World Rankings.
