Chemistry: Titration of a weak base with a strong acid
Description
In a weak base-strong acid titration, the acid and base will react to form an acidic solution. A conjugate acid will be produced during the titration, which then reacts with water to form hydronium ions. This results in a solution with a pH lower than 7. An example of this is the titration of hydrochloric acid (strong acid) into ammonia (weak base), which forms the conjugate acid ammonium and produces an acidic solution.

Did you know that everything is made out of chemicals? Chemistry is the study of matter: its composition, properties, and reactivity. This material roughly covers a first-year high school or college course, and a good understanding of algebra is helpful.

Titrations
Chemists use titrations to determine the concentration of an acid, base, or other substance in solution. We will cover the different types (strong acid/strong base, strong acid/weak base, weak acid/strong base, and redox), calculating the pH at different points of the titration, and choosing indicators.
