Full-Time MBA

The Iowa State full-time MBA is an intensive two-year program which requires 48 credit hours of study. The MBA provides a broad perspective in management education with opportunities for students to tailor their program to meet individual needs. Our core value of corporate social responsibility is interwoven throughout the curriculum. The program includes 30-credits of an integrated core curriculum and 18-credits of electivecoursework. Specializations are available in accounting, finance, technology and innovation management, marketing, and supply chain management.

 Professional Development

Opportunities are available for students to gain real-world, applicable experience during the MBA through case competitions and internships.  Students participate in the Iowa State MBA Case Competition culminating their core coursework.  MBA students are encouraged to challenge themselves and test their business skills in other case competitions including the annual Big 12 MBA Case Competition and the Sam M. Walton College of Business International Graduate Logistics Case Competition. Internships are highly recommended during the summer so students can gain experience and the chance to apply what they’ve learned in a real-world setting. MBA students will work with Graduate Career Services to find an internship to fit with their career goals and aspirations.  ISU MBA students attend professional developmentcourses during the first year, preparing them for life after graduation.

 Financial Support

The ISU College of Business has attractive financial support options for qualified candidates. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available for incoming students. Undergraduate grade point averages and GMAT scores are the primary factors used in awarding these assistantships. Additionally, the Iowa State MBA program offers three distinct scholarship categories: Targeted, Program-Specific, and Performance-based. We are excited to add the Diversity MBA Scholarship, Leadership in Service MBA Scholarship, and Cardinal and Gold MBA Scholarship opportunities for our new incoming full-time MBA students.

 Admission

Admission into the full-time MBA program is available for fall semester only.  Students with diverse undergraduate backgrounds are sought. There are no pre-requisites for admission. Work experience is not mandatory, but is strongly preferred.

Once you become an ISU MBA student, we want to ensure a positive transition into the MBA program.  Through the Successful Start Program, you will have access to free online MBA prep courses, computer tutorials, orientation and professional development courses.
