Personal
At Tulane, class sizes are small:
about 30 students in each class. You'll be in a environment where
know your instructors and classmates, and they'll know you. Your
voice will be heard, your questions answered, and one-on-one
relationships will develop.
Global
Classrooms are rich, interactive, and
personal, yet the scope is global. In the end, you are
well-prepared for any business challenge.
World-renowned faculty, exceptional academic facilities, innovative curricula, and a long tradition of excellence make your Tulane experience one that is truly world class.
Requirements
Professional Experience
Although significant work experience is not a key consideration for
the Weekend MBA program, the Committee will expect the candidate to
have two years of full-time, postgraduate work experience and will
also consider the candidate's initiative and level of professional
responsibility.
Demonstrated Ability
The committee considers a candidate's professional background, past
academic performance, and the Graduate Management Admission Test
(GMAT) results.
Degree Requirements
Official transcripts from the registrar of all colleges and
universities attended must be requested by the candidate and sent
directly to the Stewart Center of Executive Education. Candidates
must have earned an undergraduate degree. Neither a business degree
nor specific business courses are required for admission.
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Acceptable GMAT test scores are required for admission into the
program.
To learn more about the GMAT and to schedule a test date,
visitwww.MBA.com . Our program code SVC-SG-47. We
can access your official GMAT scores online within a few days of
your test date. You will receive unofficial scores
immediately after taking the GMAT.
Personal Interview
The interview aids the Committee in assessing the candidate's
strengths, motivations, personal commitment, and ability to meet
the demands of the program. The interview also offers the candidate
and opportunity to ask questions and discuss any individual
concerns with the program director. We strongly encourage
applicants to schedule an interview early in the application
process. To schedule an interview, contact Jim Rahe, Director of
Houston MBA Programs, at 713.586.6405 or jrahe@tulane.edu
Recommendations
Two recommendations, attesting to the applicant's academic and
professional abilities, are required. One recommendation should be
from a high-ranking officer from the candidate's organization. A
second should be from an immediate supervisor (or for self-employed
applicants, a business associate) who knows the candidate well and
has intimate knowledge of the candidate's work. Recommendations are
completed online.
Essays
These essays demonstrate the candidate's ability to express
thoughts clearly and effectively, and assist the committee in
evaluating the candidate's character, maturity, personal and
professional aspirations, and motivations for applying to the
Tulane program.
Application Fee
Applicants must include a non-refundable $100 application fee in
the form of a check or money order payable to Tulane
University.
Computer Skills
Candidates will be required to use Microsoft Word, Excel and
PowerPoint and must be prepared to produce documents, spreadsheets,
and presentations using these programs. You will also
need a notebook computer for use in the program. Please click here
for computer specs.
Essential Skills
To help you prepare for the
demands of this curriculum, we have partnered with Harvard Business
School Publishing to offer you online preparatory courses in
Quantitative Methods, Spreadsheet Modeling (Excel), and Financial
Accounting. All candidates, applicants, and accepted students are
encouraged to enroll in these courses before the curriculum begins.
In some cases, applicants may be required to
