Sooner or later all women are, to some degree, faced with the symptoms of menopause. This period of transition, which usually takes place somewhere between the ages of 45 and 55, is often accompanied by physical and mental complaints that affect the everyday (working) lives of women.
With the proper knowledge and awareness, you can recognise the onset of menopause and adjust your lifestyle accordingly. The Curilion expertise centre has teamed up with KLM and KLM Health Services to organise a workshop called “KLM Menopause-Proof – getting to grips with menopause”.

For whom?
This workshop was specially
developed for women working at KLM and KLM Cityhopper, who would
like to gain insight into menopause.
What are the aims of the workshop?
- To get practical tips on how to stay fit and healthy, both mentally and physically in your working life. Examples include coping with irregular working hours, changes in sleep, time and temperature, nutrition and nightshifts, wearing uniforms, working in open-plan offices, standing or sitting for extended periods, stress and work pressure, and so on;
- To learn more about the biology of menopause;
- To become more aware and expand your insight into how menopause affects your physical and mental wellbeing;
- To get tips on finding and maintaining balance;
- To reduce absenteeism resulting from menopause-related complaints.
How?
In a group setting with a maximum of 20
participants. The interactive workshop lasts three hours.
When?
This workshop will be presented six
times in 2020.
Where?
In Building 133 at Schiphol-Oost.
By whom?
The workshop will be presented by
an experienced gynaecologist and a psychologist from Curilion, an
expertise centre for women’s care in Haarlem.
Costs?
KLM offers this workshop to you free
of charge.
Planning?
You and your manager will jointly
decide whether you will attend the workshop in your free time or
during working hours.
