The Master of Science in accountancy is designed for students with bachelor’s degrees in business areas, including accounting. It meets the August 1, 2009, 150 credit hour requirements to sit for the NY State CPA exam.

The MS in accounting program equips students with the necessary tools to effectively interpret and use accounting and financial information. It meets the standards adopted by the AACSB-International for special accreditation of accounting programs. Successful completion of the program makes students eligible to waive one year of NY State's standard two year CPA professional experience requirement.

Background Needed:
Although no previous accounting or business coursework is necessary, new students with non-business degrees should have some understanding of the basic concepts in
- accounting
- pre-calculus math
- statistics
- the use of Excel spreadsheets.
Modules in each of these areas are available - for admitted applicants only - through our QuickStart programs. All admitted applicants receive QuickStart information and self-tests to assist them in determining their need for individual QuickStart modules.
