The SMU Cox Executive MBA Program began in 1976 and was recently ranked #7 in the world by BusinessWeek. The format of alternating Fridays and Saturdays allows for weekday travel and most of the classes are recorded for downloading if students miss or want to review class material. The average experience level of the student is 15 years, which allows for both breadth and depth of classroom discussion. The curriculum has a general management focus and all students take the same courses including a global studies trip.

On alternating weekends over 21 months, you’ll learn, grow and evolve together through classes, study groups, team-building exercises and networking activities. This dynamic, “cohort” approach challenges you with new insights and broader perspectives. Executive MBA - Admissions Process

If you are interested in joining the Executive MBA, please complete the following:

1.  Send your resume and cover letter for initial phone interview. 
2.  Call 214-768-3154 to arrange for a class visit.
3.  Fill out the online Executive MBA application.
4.  Send in your recommendation letters and transcripts.
5.  Complete in-person interview.

Executive MBA - Admissions Requirements

Strong candidates for the Executive MBA Program should:

• Have 8 years of work experience with the majority in mid to upper management
• Currently occupy mid to senior level management or ownership position
• Be committed to completing a graduate level management education over a 21-month period

Executive MBA - Application Process

In order to complete the Executive MBA application, you will need the following items:

• Current résumé and cover letter
• All official undergraduate / graduate transcripts
• Completed application form, including three essays
• Two recommendation letters: 
  
  • One from a senior manager of the sponsoring company;
  • One from immediate supervisor or colleague with an MBA

  Please note that your GMAT scores are not required.

  Once all your application materials have been received, the Executive MBA office will contact you if an in-person interview is appropriate. Following your in-person interview the Admissions Committee will provide you with a decision within two weeks.
