Beginning with an in-depth discussion of the changes FERC Order No. 888 will bring to a traditionally vertically integrated industry, we go on to address the dynamics of tomorrow’s business environment and provide attendees with an analysis of the challenges faced by the electric utilities. A major section of this class is devoted to teaching participants power industry terminology, with a focus on the terminology that is specific to power trading.
We pay special attention to detailing the risks associated with power marketing, because power marketing has inherent risks that are much greater than those the natural gas industry is accustomed to. The seminar is highly participatory, personalized and limited to a maximum of twenty people per session.
Seminar Objectives:
Participants in the Electric Power Overview training seminar will learn to:

- Find where opportunities will be in wholesale power marketing
- Use skills important for conducting real life transactions
- Understand risks and associated risks in deal-making ventures
