Text-dependent Research - English Language Arts - Level 1
Description
Students working to become power users on Youth Voices conduct short-term and in-depth research projects, doing close readings of multi-modal and multi-cultural resources.
Each of the four tasks asks the student to cite strong and through textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
Students develop and demonstrate their close reading through a careful use of annotations, dialectical notetaking, APA or MLA citations, and hyperlinking to sources.
