Our competitive admissions process and limited class size ensure that you can interact on a regular basis with faculty and your peers within the program. The Admission Committee will review your application. Interviews are required for applicants for both the Full-time and Professional MBA programs, and we will notify you if you have been selected to interview.

Interview Policy & Process

Interviews are conducted by invitation only for applicants to the program. Applicants to the MBA program are selected to interview based on the quality of the completed application. We will not offer admission to a candidate until he/she has completed a personal interview with a member of our Admissions Committee.

If you are chosen to interview, we will send you an email message that describes the process for scheduling an interview and the date by which the interview must be completed. You will be notified via telephone if you do not have access to email.

Interviews are conducted on campus in the NC State MBA Program office. If this is not possible, we will arrange a telephone interview.

Admissions Notification of Acceptance

Approximately 30 days after the application deadline and interview, we will inform you of the committee’s recommendation of admission or denial. You will receive a letter from the Dean of the Graduate School with the official decision. For security reasons, we do not give admission decisions on the telephone.

All admissions decisions are final. If you are denied admission, you may reapply the following year. The MBA office holds all applications materials for one year, so you will not need to resubmit transcripts or GMAT scores unless your scores or transcripts have changed.

You must enroll under the status for which you applied. To change from Full-time status to Professional status, or vice versa, you must contact the MBA office and request a change. The Committee will determine eligibility.

Applicants who are granted admission may defer their enrollment for up to one year. If an admitted applicant decides to defer admission after paying the required $300 non refundable enrollment, he or she will forfeit the deposit and be required to submit a new one once enrollment is confirmed for a later semester.
