MIT Sloan’s MBA program encompasses an unparalleled combination of in-depth case studies with live case discussions, stimulating collaborative projects, engrossing classes taught by exceptional faculty, extraordinary chances to interact with industry leaders, and Action Learning Lab classes.

This broad portfolio of learning opportunities puts you in an enviable position to experience exponential growth — academically, personally, and professionally. More than that, the MBA program at MIT Sloan gives you confidence in your own leadership skills and your ability to meet a variety of challenge, and it propels you toward accomplishing your career goals and aspirations.

Specialized, Diversified, Rigorous

Our diversified, specialized, and rigorous curriculum exemplifies our commitment to balancing innovative ideas and theories with hands-on, real-world application.

The academic level of the coursework at MIT Sloan is markedly rigorous, and is further distinguished by a greater emphasis on analytical reasoning and quantitative analysis than most top-tier programs provide.

Curriculum

A core component of MIT Sloan’s curriculum is Action Learning — directly applying academic concepts to real-world business challenges. Courses blend in-depth case studies, integrated lectures that link historical context to contemporary issues, live team projects, and opportunities for reflection, laying a strong foundation for career exploration and personal growth. Through reflection before, during, and after their project-based work and classroom learning, students broaden their leadership skills, bringing new insights back to MIT Sloan, enhancing their academic experience and more fully preparing them for their professional lives.

Who Should Apply?

We seek to enroll well-rounded individuals with the following characteristics:

  • Success in your professional endeavors, whether you are well into your career or a college senior
  • Ability to collaborate in order to accomplish a common goal
  • Leadership drive to inspire others to achieve success
  • Vision to seek alternative solutions to existing challenges
  • Pursuit of meaningful goals

We evaluate every application on its own merits, so a rejection in a previous year does not affect your chance for acceptance, should you choose to reapply. We will consider one application per year of entry per person, so apply only once in an admission cycle.

We welcome applications from college graduates from all areas of concentration, including the humanities, the social and physical sciences, and engineering. However, accepted applicants may be required to take a course(s) in microeconomics, calculus, or financial accounting prior to starting MBA studies.

No single characteristic in the application is more or less important than any other. Each applicant is evaluated as a whole.

Work experience is not required for admission, although having career exposure can help leverage the MIT Sloan experience. Students who already have a framework of experience against which to apply their education, and who understand workplace issues, generally get more out of the program and contribute more to classroom discussions and team projects.

Are You Ready?

MIT Sloan's admissions cycle has two deadlines. A key to success is to apply when when you have had time to commit to creating a complete and competitive application.

Before beginning the online application, read the application instructions thoroughly. Remember, the most important information you can provide is a candid look at your personal story and the experiences that have shaped who you are today. When you are ready, you may apply online here.

College seniors who are U.S. citizens completing their undergraduate degree in the U.S. may emailadcom@sloan.mit.edu to request an application fee waiver up to 72 hours prior to the application deadline.
