Admissions
We seek to enroll as diverse a class as possible, and we welcome
applications from individuals who have different professional
backgrounds, undergraduate majors, and life experiences. As we
review applications, we evaluate a candidate's professional
experience, academic aptitude, and personal qualities. We conduct a
comprehensive, holistic review of each candidate's resume, letters
of recommendation, academic record, test scores, essays, record of
extracurricular involvement, and evaluative interview.
Competitive applicants for admission hold a bachelor's degree from
an accredited college or university and will have at least two
years of post-baccalaureate work experience by the time they begin
classes in August. On average, students begin our MBA program with
five years of post-baccalaureate work experience. Our Fall 2012
entering class profile provides useful information for applicants.
In addition, we encourage you to connect with MBA Student
Recruiters and to engage members of our community through our two
campus visit programs, Experience Georgetown and MBA Insider.
These types of personal interactions will help you to gauge
your fit for our program and ultimately will help you to craft
compelling essays which speak to why you belong at Georgetown.
The Full-time MBA Program at Georgetown University recognizes that
the business school application process requires much time and
effort. We encourage you to review our Resource Guide for important
information regarding the Full-time MBA Program and our admissions
process. Our MBA Admissions team is also a resource for you during
this important time. Once you apply, you will be assigned to an
Admissions Manager, who is available to answer all of your specific
questions and to help you navigate the admissions process. Every
application for admission is read carefully by at least two members
of the Admissions Committee. Applications are then discussed in
committee before a final decision is made. We are committed to
ensuring that our process is a personal one, and by the time a
decision is made on your application, we feel as though we know
you.
