Introduction
Kickstart School's 24-hour Dutch course for beginners (A0=>A1 - Starterpack) emphasizes learning by doing, equipping you with the skills to handle everyday situations. Using a communicative approach, you will start speaking Dutch from your very first lesson (30% Dutch, 70% English). The maximum group size is 8 for online classes and 10 for face-to-face sessions. The course runs for a total of 24 hours. The course covers vocabulary, grammar, language functions, and culture. We apply the flipped classroom concept, requiring 2–3 hours of preparation before each class to ensure better learning outcomes.
Target Group
Our group courses are designed for middle to highly educated professionals who are motivated to combine self-study with guided lessons. Courses are available from beginner (A0) to advanced (C1) levels.
Course Content & Teaching Methods
The course covers real-life communication, integrating grammar and vocabulary through practical exercises. It consists of two main components:
- Teacher-led group lessons (online or in-person)
- E-learning: varied assignments on our online platform
Learning objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Introduce yourself and others
- Use basic greetings and everyday phrases
- Answer simple questions about yourself
- Listen, understand and participate in slow conversations with pauses
- Recognise very basic phrases from everyday situations
- Be able to order in shops and restaurants
- Describe complaints to a doctor
Intake Procedure
There is no need to do an intake. You can register for the course of your choice and you will be contacted to confirm the booking, subject to availability.

30% Dutch and 70% English
