John F. Welch College of Business

The John F. Welch College of Business curriculum emphasizes core business skills and knowledge, communications skills, and ethics. We stress hands on learning, understanding of the global marketplace, and state-of-the-art technology.

The John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University enrolls over 950 students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Undergraduate programs are offered in accounting,business administration, business economics, finance, marketingand sport management. Two hundred students are enrolled in theMaster of Business Administration with concentrations offered in accounting, financial management and management. Professional post-baccalaureate study is offered through graduate certificates in Accounting, Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Global Investments, International Business, Leadership, and Marketing.

The faculty consists of more than 40 professors, who are recognized scholars and experienced practitioners in the business world. Faculty are encouraged to conduct research and writing and as such, are re-evaluated every five years to ensure they remain current in business practices.

Business courses are offered at the Fairfield campus as well as at the Stamford, Connecticut campus and theLuxembourg campus in Europe. Several classes are offered through state-of-the-art video broadcasting. These video conferences allow European and American students to learn from and with one another simultaneously, as do many of our business courses.

The University's location in Fairfield County gives our students unlimited access to internships, employment and corporate professionals. Sacred Heart University John F. Welch College of Business alumni are working across the country, but many have started their careers at one of the more than 2000 companies and over 40 corporate headquarters located just outside our front door. Our proximity to New York City and Boston are a great advantage for College of Business students who want to live and work in a major city.

Some of the companies that have offered internships and/or jobs to Sacred Heart University students include GE, PricewaterhouseCooper, IBM, Unilever, Credit Suisse First Boston, NASDAQ, Madison Square Garden, Tetley USA, Pepperidge Farm, Octagon Sport Marketing and Ernst & Young.
