A hallmark of Robinson's PMBA program is its lockstep format. Students work together with the faculty as a cohort, proceeding through the classes as a group. This lockstep format fosters peer learning, an atmosphere of collaboration, and allows students to build lifelong business networks. 

Admissions Requirements

Class size is limited, so we urge you to complete the application process as soon as possible. To be considered for admission, the following is required:

  • Approximately four years of professional, full-time work experience

  • Complete GMAT or GRE scores

  • A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university

  • Completed online application ($50 application fee)

  • Up to three letters of recommendation

  • An essay 

  • A resume

  • Applicants who are strong candidates for the program will be interviewed by the admissions committee

Application Process

  1. To pre-qualify for the PMBA program, email an updated resume to LaTonya O’Neal atloneal@gsu.edu.

  2. Submit one official transcript from each college/university attended.

  3. Submit a completed application - see link to online application below ($50 application fee).

  4. Take the GMAT exam or GRE exam and submit test scores to Georgia State's PMBA program.

College Transcripts and Transcript Request Form

You may complete a transcript request form and send it directly to each institution you have attended. Transcripts will then be forwarded to our office from those schools. You must submit one official transcript from each educational institution you have attended (or are attending) since high school. These transcripts are required regardless of your length of stay at the institution (including summer and graduate schools). Many schools charge a nominal fee for transcript requests. Please check with the institution regarding any fee you should include with each transcript request form you submit.

Number of transcripts to request 
You must request one official copy of each transcript. If you have attended Georgia State, you only need to request one copy of your transcript from each institution you attended after attending Georgia State if applicable.

Note: If your status at Georgia State was transient or post-baccalaureate, submit one copy of your transcript from each institution.

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

This test is required of all PMBA applicants. Official scores must be submitted. Unofficial score reports may be faxed to 404-413-7051.

Registration reservations should be made at least five weeks in advance of the test date.

Note: Please use the GMAT code number QCK-ZW-81 for Georgia State University's Professional MBA program.

Note: Scores must be no more than five years old at the desired fall semester of entry to the PMBA program.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is one of two primary tests for admission into the master’s programs at the Robinson College of Business. The other is the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). All applicants to the MBA and MS programs must take the GRE or GMAT.

GMAT and GRE Preparation

Several different options are available to to help prepare prospective candidates for the GMAT and/or GRE. Local bookstores have a variety of test preparation guides. Additional review courses and software applications are available at mba.com and ets.org. In addition, the Office of Executive Programs offers GMAT preparation courses.
