π Certification Requirements
To qualify for the CISM certification, you must:
- Have at least 5 years of experience in information security management (or 4 years with a bachelorβs degree).
- Have experience in at least two CISM domains.
- Commit to ISACAβs Code of Professional Ethics.
If you donβt yet meet the experience requirement, you can apply for CISM Associate status until you gain the necessary experience.

The CISM certification exam is not included in the course package and must be scheduled separately through ISACA.
