If your work within the helping profession puts you in touch with clients or service users that may have experienced the trauma of rape and/or sexual violence. This brand new Home Study Programme for Working With Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence may not only be of benefit to your continued professional development but can also help to understand the physical and psychological damage that survivors are often left with. The Programme is suitable for students who want to develop further skills within their existing roles in the caring profession and is designed, prepared and written by BACP Accredited Counsellors and Training Facilitators from Jigsaw Counselling + Consultancy Services® (training Section) who collectively have 15 years experience of working in this field.

At UK Open Learning we pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive tutors. Your tutor support will start as soon as you receive your course and will be valid for 12 months. All our tutors are highly qualified with extensive experience in supporting distance learning students. You contact your tutor via email and they are responsible for marking assignments answering your questions and guiding you through the course to ensure you are ready for your examinations.

There are no entry requirements, but learners must have an interest in the subject. The course is however best suited for people already working in this sector.

We recommend you spend approximately 110 hours of your time studying for the Working with Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence Award. The pace of study is completely up to you. To give an example, if you dedicate 2 hours a week to the course it would take you a year to complete but if you could spare 4 hours a week you could complete it in six months.
