We recommend you spend approximately 110 hours of your time studying for the IACE Award in Canine Science. The pace of study is completely up to you. To give an example, if you dedicate 2 hours a week to the course it would take you a year to complete but if you could spare 4 hours a week you could complete it in six months.

Unit 1 - The Evolution and Diversity of the Canidae. Unit 2 - Candiae Diversity. Unit 3 - Anatomy and Movement 1. Unit 4 - Anatomy and Movement 2. Unit 5 - Wolf behavior. Unit 6 - Grey wolf behavior 2. Unit 7 - Canis Familiaris. Unit 8 - Neoteny and Domestication. Unit 9 - Understanding the dog. Unit 10 - Common Problems and Approaches.

This course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor. This means that your qualification will be awarded according to your performance on assessments rather than by taking an exam.

The course is conducted by post and assessment takes the form of question papers alongside report writing.
