An elective in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Writing
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, many of the major works of children’s literature were published, among them Alice in Wonderland, The Wind in the Willows, Peter Pan, Treasure Island and The Wizard of Oz. Examine these and other classics of children’s literature to discover what visions they present of childhood, of the social world and of the self. Pay particular attention to how these books address the two audiences of children’s literature: the child and the adult.
