X141 (2 semester units in Electrical Engineering)

A requirement in the Certificate Program in Integrated Circuit Design and Techniques

Advances in signal processing, analog-to-digital conversion and the continued scaling down of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) nanotechnology have ushered in the era of analog IC design with multi-standard challenges. Topics include stability of feedback, frequency compensation, multistage operational amplifiers (op-amps) and optimized CMOS op-amp designs. Prepare to work on a design project to meet a required product specification. The scope of the project covers design of an advanced CMOS op-amp and of high-performance CMOS comparators for flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) applications.
