Content
- Architecture Overview of a Clustered Environment
- Installation of ASE Cluster Edition on Clients and Servers
- Creation of Physical and Logical Clusters
- Configuration of Physical and Logical Clusters
- Monitoring Clustered Environments
- Managing ASE Clusters
- Troubleshooting ASE Cluster Environments
- Migrating to ASE Cluster Edition
Notes
- Learn how to architect, plan, install, configure, monitor and manage ASE Cluster Edition. The course begins with an architectural and infrastructure implementation overview to help you explore the operating environments and hardware configurations that will work best with ASE Cluster Edition. You will then learn how to design and plan a clustered infrastructure based on clustering business needs and the underlying Network and Storage System configuration (SAN), hardware, as well as high speed private/public networks necessary for optimal reliability and performance. You will also learn how to create and connect physical nodes, create logical clusters, and install and deploy the Sybase software required in order to sustain the clustered state.
- Other topics include: client applications and Client/Server interaction, security with a clustered environment, monitoring the cluster, managing the workload via Sybase Virtual Resource Management, cluster cache configuration, using temporary databases, the sybcluster utility, troubleshooting ASE Cluster Edition, and other advanced topics including migration.
