We will learn how to use XSLT to transform structured documents in various ways. This course/challenge will move from the very basics to real-world problems involved in building a web tool that converts documents from word, html, latex and google docs to a structured xml format and then from there to interactive online and offline formats, print and ebook formats. At the end we will have challenges that relate to an existing open source projct, http://cnx.oerpub.org, housed at github, https://github.com/oerpub. We will have mentors that know XSLT already.
