Next, you use the results data to create tabular, cross-tabular, chart, and band-style reports.
You begin the third day by examining the benefits of dashboards and the default feature set provided in Dashboard Studio templates. You then create dashboards two ways. First you create dashboards with a simple dashboard template that enables you to complete the dashboard building process within Interactive Reporting Studio or Oracle's Hyperion Workspace. Second, you use a dashboard template that provides additional robust dashboard interfaces. With this template, you use both Interactive Reporting Studio and Dashboard Studio to build and configure the dashboards. This includes the use of Live Charts, Gauges other interactive objects.
The second part of the class focuses on advanced developer tasks and concepts. On the fourth day, you create connections to various data sources and configure metadata. Using those connections, you build a variety of data models, including meta topics and master data models. Next, you learn advanced querying techniques, such as how to combine queries and utilize underlying SQL.
On the fifth day, you learn advanced reporting techniques, including how to create drill paths, how to implement row-level security, and how to create various computed items. Next, you learn how to import Interactive Reporting content into Workspace, create shared Workspace pages, and run and schedule Interactive Reporting jobs. Finally, you learn how to maintain documents by using the Optimize Utility.
