Course 70101: Planning Group Policy and Certificate Services

Introduction This course introduces Group Policy as an essential part of any Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) network, exploring how to plan and implement Group Policy object (GPO) within an enterprise network. The GPO is used as a centralized management tool to distribute settings and applications to computers. This understanding is important for using GPO to distribute security settings for servers and to configure the user environment and distribute applications for client computers. The course also describes Certificate Services, also known as public key infrastructure (PKI), as an increasingly important part of modern Windows networks. Planning the deployment of Active Directory Certificate Services helps to ensure that both users and computers connected to your organization's network can be appropriately provisioned with certificates and can perform critical tasks. The course also introduces you to the new AD CS features in Windows Server 2008 R2•Certificate Enrollment Web Service and Cross Forest Enrollment.
