Course 6865: Managing and Monitoring Terminal Services

Introduction This 2-hour course describes the Terminal Services Manager and TS Gateway Manager tools used for administering Terminal Services. It describes how to manage terminal server resource allocation by using the WSRM tool.

This course covers the following topics:

• Terminal Services management tools
• Terminal Services monitoring tools

This course helps you prepare for exam 70-643: TS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure, Configuring.

The prerequisites for this course are as follows:

• Basic understanding of networking concepts.
• Networking collections 6420 and 6421, or TS exam 70-642, or equivalent knowledge.
• Basic understanding of network operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of server hardware. A+ or equivalent knowledge is expected but not required.

This course has the same content as the previous version in an updated viewer with a new look and feel.

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Adobe Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
