Course 6303: Customizing a SharePoint Web site Using Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007

Introduction This one-hour course describes how you can use SharePoint Designer 2007 to create interactive Web pages using ASP.NET controls. It also describes how to customize your Web site by using master pages, Web Parts, and cascading style sheets. This knowledge helps you create customized, interactive Web pages and Web sites.

The course covers the following topics:

• ASP.NET controls
• Master pages
• Web parts
• Cascading style sheets
• Rollback methods

This course requires that students meet the following prerequisites:

• Proficiency in performing basic tasks of Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Proficiency in using SharePoint sites by using a browser
• Proficiency in Microsoft FrontPage (optional)
• Basic HTML skills (optional)

Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Create and customize interactive Web pages.
• Use Master Pages and Web Parts.
• Use Cascading Style Sheets to format Web pages.

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Adobe Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.

• Microsoft Virtual Server ActiveX control (1MB disk space needed to install)
