Course 6151: Troubleshooting Microsoft Internet Information Services 7.0

Introduction This course describes the processes and techniques for troubleshooting IIS 7.0. This course also explains how to use auditing and log files to assist with troubleshooting tasks.


The content in this course supports the following certification exam(s):

• Exam 70-649 TS: Transition from Windows Server 2003 MCSE to Windows Server 2008 Technology Specialist
• Exam 70-643 TS: Configuring Windows Server 2008 Application Services

Audience Prerequisites:

• Practical knowledge of Windows Server 2008 administration
• Experience of setting security properties on network resources
• Experience with security certificates
• Knowledge of the HTTP and TCP/IP protocols

Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Troubleshoot IIS 7.0 configuration settings.
• Troubleshoot IIS 7.0 communications.
• Configure auditing in IIS 7.0.

• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
