Introduction
One benefit of implementing server virtualization is the
opportunity to provide higher availability, both for applications
or services that have built-in, high-availability functionality,
and for applications or services that do not provide high
availability in any other way. With the Windows® Server® 2008 R2
Hyper-V™ technology and Microsoft® System Center Virtual Machine

with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 (Operations
Manager 2007) to provide a complete monitoring and optimization
solution. By integrating Operations Manager 2007 with VMM, you can
use the reporting capabilities in Operations Manager 2007 to create
reports in VMM. Additionally, VMM provides the Performance and
Resource Optimization (PRO) feature for helping you manage the
virtual environment. This course also describes how to configure
monitoring and reporting for a virtualized environment. This course
is a subset of the content offered in the Microsoft Learning
Collection 10215A: Implementing and Managing Microsoft Server
Virtualization, and it can help prepare learners for the Microsoft
Learning certification exam 70-659 TS: Windows Server 2008 R2,
Server Virtualization. Objectives At the end of the course,
students will be able to:
- In this course, you will implement high availability for
virtual machines by using failover clustering. as well as configure
monitoring and reporting for a virtualized environment.
