Course 10519: Creating Event Receivers and Workflows

Introduction This course teaches developers how to create business processes in SharePoint 2010 by using workflows and SharePoint events.

The course covers the following topics.

• Event Receivers in SharePoint 2010
• Feature Receivers in SharePoint 2010
• Developing SharePoint Workflows by Using SharePoint Designer
• Developing SharePoint Workflows by Using Visual Studio 2010

This course prepares you for the exam 70-573: TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development.

Students should meet the following pre-requisites:

• 12 months' experience developing solutions with ASP.NET
• 6 months' experience developing solutions for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Create event receivers for SharePoint 2010 solutions.
• Create Feature receivers for SharePoint 2010 solutions.
• Create workflows for SharePoint by using SharePoint Designer 2010.
• Create workflows for SharePoint by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ

• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.

For courses containing Virtual Server-based labs (courses in the IT Professional and Developer Catalog), you will need:
