Course 10510: Configuring Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Topology and Services

Introduction This two-hour course provides you with the knowledge and skills required to plan and configure SharePoint 2010 topology and services. This course also covers patch management in SharePoint 2010.

This course covers the following topics:

• Planning SharePoint 2010 topology
• Configuring SharePoint 2010 topology
• Patch management in SharePoint 2010
• Configuring SharePoint 2010 service applications

This course helps you prepare for the Exam 70-667 TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring.

The prerequisites for this course are as follows:

• An experience of at least 12 months in deployment and management of SharePoint solutions.
• An experience of at least 12 months in working with Windows Server 2008 Server, Internet Information Services (IIS) and networking infrastructure services, such as DNS and Active Directory.
• An experience of working with Windows PowerShell.

Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
