Course 10403: Beginner Skills Training in Microsoft InfoPath 2010

Introduction This one-and-a-half-hour course describes how to use basic features of InfoPath 2010 to create, customize, print, publish, and fill a form.

Topics covered in this course include:

• InfoPath 2010 User Interface
• Create a Form
• Add and Customize a Layout Table, Text, and Illustrations
• Save and Open a Form
• Add and Customize Controls
• Set Actions and Validation Rules
• Preview, Print, and Publish a Form
• Connect Form to Data Source
• Define Action, Rules, and Roles
• Fill a Form

Student prerequisites:
Students must have the basic skills of using Microsoft Windows. This includes basic tasks such as opening, editing, and saving a file. Students should complete Course 4697: Introduction to the New Microsoft® Office Fluent™ User Interface before taking this course.
Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Create a form by using a template.
• Add and customize controls in a form.
• Print and publish a form.
• Connect a form to a data source in InfoPath Designer 2010 and fill the form by using InfoPath Filler 2010.

• A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Adobe Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.

For courses containing Virtual Server-based labs (courses in the IT Professional and Developer Catalog), you will need:

• Microsoft Virtual Server ActiveX control (1MB disk space needed to install)
