Course 10010: WPF Productivity Enhancements for Windows Forms Developers

Introduction This two-hour course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to use WPF productivity features. You will learn how to play audio and video the WPF way, print visuals, create a splash screen, and build gadget-style windows. You will also learn about alternative user interfaces offered by WPF such as the Page and PageFunction objects and XBAP.

Topics covered in this course include:

• Core Concepts and Features in WPF
• Media and Display Enhancements
• Creating Page-Based Applications

Student prerequisites:

To benefit from this course, the learner must be familiar with, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, or 3.5, Visual C# or Visual Basic .NET, and WinForms. The learner must also have access to Visual Studio 2008. Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Describe core concepts and features of WPF.
• Use WPF's updated display and output features.
• Create and use page-based applications

• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher

• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
