Course 10008: 2-D Graphics for Windows Forms Developers

Introduction This two-hour course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to create and use 2-D graphics in WPF. You will learn how to create shapes and geometries in WPF. You will also learn how to use Brushes in WPF and apply transformations and effects to an element in WPF.

Topics covered in this course include:

• Creating Shapes and Geometries
• Applying Transformations and Effects
• Using Brushes

Student prerequisites:

To benefit from this course, the learner must be familiar with, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, or 3.5, Visual C# or Visual Basic .NET, and WinForms. The learner must also have access to Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend 2. Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Create and use shapes and geometries in WPF.
• Describe the uses of Brushes in WPF.
• Apply transformations and effects to WPF objects.

• Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 or higher
• Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
• A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
• A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
• Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
