Kickstart School

This 24-hour Pre-Intermediate Dutch Language Course (A2->A2+ - Stepping Stone II) is for those who would like to revise the key grammar points of the A0-A2-level and learn new, more complicated grammar. Emphasis is placed on expanding vocabulary and improving fluency in speaking.

Kickstart School also introduces key cultural aspects to help you feel at home. Interactive group lessons keep you engaged, learning from both the instructor and fellow students. Our online platform, KickstartNet, supports your progress by reinforcing your knowledge.

Introduction

In Kickstart School’s Pre-Intermediate Dutch Language Course (A2->A2+ - Stepping Stone II) emphasis is placed on expanding vocabulary and improving fluency in speaking. You will have the opportunity to discuss the news and Dutch culture and to give short presentations. Discussions in lessons will focus on work and free time, travelling and expressing feelings. You will be speaking Dutch from your very first lesson (90% Dutch- 10% English; only for grammar explanations). The maximum group size is 8 for online classes and 10 for face-to-face sessions. The course runs for a total of 24 hours. The course covers vocabulary, grammar, language functions, and culture. We apply the flipped classroom concept, requiring 2–3 hours of preparation before each class to ensure better learning outcomes. 

Target Group

Our group courses are designed for middle to highly educated professionals who are motivated to combine self-study with guided lessons. Courses are available from beginner (A0) to advanced (C1) levels.

Course Content & Teaching Methods

The course covers real-life communication, integrating grammar and vocabulary through practical exercises. It consists of two main components:

• Teacher-led group lessons (online or in-person)
• E-learning: varied assignments on our online platform

Learning Objectives

• Describe past experiences and events in a comfortable way
• Talk about your identity, nutrition and health
• Talk about life and work in the Netherlands
• Talk about travel and leisure time
• Give short presentations to the group
• Write about simple matters (to teachers, friends, service companies etc.)

Intake procedure

You can register for your preferred course, and we will contact you to confirm your booking, subject to availability. However, to ensure the course is a good fit for you, we also need to assess your level. Please complete our online level test and schedule a spoken intake on our website.
