In addition to a MBA degree, all graduates receive the NSA-approved certificate: Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals (NSTISSI No. 4011).
This program uses a "blended" format of instruction where the students meet with faculty face-to-face once every eight weeks in Reston, Va., on a Saturday at the beginning and end of every course. The rest of the course is completely Web-delivered, using leading-edge synchronous and asynchronous teaching methods. The entire program lasts 27 months. The program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Curriculum Overview
The program includes 14 courses, 10 core courses covering the basic business topics such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, and strategy. Each of these core courses address some issues of information security as it relates to the specific discipline. Additionally, 4 courses focus specifically on information security topics that managers in today's business environment need to know.
As the program grows and issues change, the curriculum is changed with it. We constantly update and fine-tune course content, sequencing and mix.
The first cohort of the Infosec MBA program started August 2000. Cohort 14 will start in August 2013.
Admission is based on a combination of the following:
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score
- Overall undergraduate grade point average
- Resume citing work experience
- Two letters of recommendation supporting the candidate's application for graduate school
- Minimum of two years full-time work experience
