The Brandeis International Business School (IBS) at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States was founded in 1994. Its teaching and research are focused on the global economy. Originally known as the Graduate School of International Economics and Finance, the school has expanded its expertise to encompass all aspects of international business and economic interdependence. Its parent institution is Brandeis University, a private research university established in 1948. IBS is located in two buildings: the Sachar International Center (1973) and the Lemberg Academic Center (2003). Its founding dean is Peter A. Petri, and during 2006-2007 academic year F. Trenery Dolbear had been appointed as the acting dean. Bruce R. Magid, Ph.D., has been appointed dean of Brandeis International Business School (IBS), effective July 1, 2007.
