Bellevue University College of Business

The mission of the College of Business is to inspire, enable, and actively engage learners to pursue a quality business education by introducing the knowledge, skills, and understanding critical to being a valuable contributor to modern business and society. To this end, the College of Business faculty use active learning processes that enable students to take part in their own education. This is manifested in team activities, role playing, computer simulations, case analyses, oral and written presentations, readings in the current literature, and other activities that require the student to think critically and exchange ideas with other members of the class. The professors provide fundamental knowledge, practical applications, and a supportive environment that will facilitate the learning process.

The focus of the curriculum throughout the College stresses performance and application; i.e., students will learn to apply business concepts, standards, and information systems to typical and unique work activities in the community. Since the majority of students are adult learners, they are invited to bring their work experiences to the classroom. As a result, class members learn about current business practices and problems from each other, with a better understanding of how principles are being applied in both profit and non-profit environments.
