Management of Risk (M_o_R)  is a generic framework for the management of risk across all parts of an organisation - strategic, programme, project and operational. It incorporates all the activities required to identify and control the exposure to any type of risk, positive or negative, which may have an impact on the achievement of your organisation's business objectives.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The AVC accredited M_o_R Foundation online course covers all aspects of the M_o_R guidance using voice-overs, animation and activities. The course takes approximately 12 hours to complete, which is equivalent to a three-day workshop.

The main body of the course consists of ten sessions which cover the principles, approach, processes, embedding & reviewing and perspectives of the Management of Risk guidance. The course also looks at risk health checks, the Management of Risk maturity model and risk management specialisms.

What is MoR® ?

Risk Management (M_o_R®) is designed to help organizations put in place an effective risk management framework that enables them to make informed decisions about the risks that affect their strategic, portfolio, programme, project, product or operational objectives. It provides practical guidance for effective risk management and shows how to link risks to opportunities and benefits. M_o_R® is universally applicable and aligned with ISO standards.

During this Risk Management (M_o_R) course, you will improve your skills and knowledge in Risk Management - M_o_R framework. You will be able to assess and make decisions about risks that affect your organization's performance. You will also be able to protect your organization by applying the activities required to identify and control your exposure to risks. This is possible by embedding and reviewing risk management in your organization's culture and by being able to implement and update risk management in any scenario.

• A detailed review of the 8 principles which underpin the M_o_R guidance

M_o_R Approach 

• A look at the set of documentation which support the M_o_R approach, including the Risk Management policy, process guide, strategies and so on.

 M_o_R Processes

• The 4 main M_o_R processes of Identify, Assess, Plan and Implement, along with the process inputs, outputs, goals, tasks and techniques involved.

Embedding & Reviewing M_o_R

• This session looks at changing organisational culture, measuring the value and how to overcome the common barriers associated with the implementation of Risk Management, along with establishing opportunities for change

M_o_R Perspectives

• The M_o_R guidance describes the context of Risk Management from 4 different organisational perspectives. These are Strategic, Programme, Project and Operational and this session looks at each in some detail.

Target audience

The course will be of benefit to all levels of management including:

• Corporate managers – responsible for corporate governance and the organisation’s overall exposure to risk

Exam details

Exam language: English, Danish, German, Polish

• Multiple choice examination questions
• 75 questions per paper
• Five questions are ‘trial questions’ and not counted in scores
• 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 50%
• 60 minutes’ duration (25% extra time for candidates taking the exam in a language other than their native language)
• Closed book.

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation approximately two weeks before course commencement to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered, you can book your online exam at a date and time. You are responsible for booking your exam.
